Halloween Sausage Mummy

Halloween it’s here! So let’s make some fun food! If your kids like helping in the kitchen this is a great way to spend the afternoon! Mine isn’t into cooking so, solo cooking around here!



Ingredients:

Sausage links or carrots

Puff pastry or pizza dough

1 egg yolk

To decor: eye candies, Halloween sprinkles

Your kids favorite dipping sauce


Directions:

  1. If you bought frozen puff pastry, let it defrost

  2. Line a baking tray with parchment paper

  3. Preheat oven at 400 F

  4. Cut links in half or leave them whole

  5. Unroll the puff pastry or in a floured surface roll out the pizza dough into a rectangle

  6. Slice the dough into strips

  7. Wrap each sausage with the strips giving a mommy effect. Leave a little gap for the face

  8. Place in the prepared baking dish

  9. Repeat step 7 and 8 with each sausage

  10. Brush each mommy with the egg yolk

  11. Bake until they get a nice golden brown color

  12. Right after taking it out of the oven place the eyes in the face gap. It’s really important that this step is done right after the mommies come out of the oven, so the candy will slightly melt and stay in place

  13. If you forgot and they are cold you could paste the eyes with a dot of honey or reheat
