I love making smoothies for breakfast or snack time. I like adding a small amount of vegetables, so when my toddler asks for a pink smoothie I add strawberries and red beets. When I make a mango one I add cauliflower or celery. To get a nice final color I recommend thinking about the color of the vegetables and fruits. For protein I add yogurt, nut butters and seeds. For nut butters I prefer almond or cashew butter because they have a milder taste compared with other nut butters. If you want to make some popsicles or flavored ice cubes you can use the leftovers from the smoothie or make extra.
Ingredients: 1 mango
1 frozen banana
¼ cup cauliflower rice
1 tablespoon hemp seeds
2 tablespoons of plain yogurt
Splash of water of favorite milk
Directions:
In a blender combine all of the ingredients
Blend until you get a smooth consistency
Serve and drink!
Note:
Some of the vegetables that I always keep in my freezer are store bought frozen rice cauliflower, spinach, peas.
